MICHELE SCALET (priest)

After his theological studies, he obtained a degree in pedagogy at the University of Padua. Then he worked in the community of to the Stimmate where he was appointed rector of the boarding school and principal of the schools. At the same time he exercised his ministry as a preacher and he was much appreciated by priests and by religious of various Institutes. In 1945 he was in Aqui Terme and in 1946 he went to Rieti to look after the boarding school and to organize the diocesan Caritas.
In 1955 he was sent to Milan (S. Leone) and in 1958 he was sent to S. Croce (Milan) where he became parish priest the following year. He led the parish community with good discretion and intelligence throughout the period of reform after the Second Vatican Council.
In 1982 he was transferred to Udine as a superior. He worked in that community until his death, assisted with love for the last five years by confreres and friends.
