In his priestly life Fr. Carlo can be considered a real ‘apostolic missionary’, committed as he was to preaching: throughout his life he led more than 120 spiritual retreats for religious and lay people. Very shy in his character, he managed to overcome his timidity and the stutter he had since early age, thanks to his strong will and determination. He became a spiritual guide for many people in the different apostolic fields in which he was called to serve: director of the house for retreats in Malosco (Trento), parish priest at Holy Spouses (Trento) from 1960 to 1966, hospital chaplain at S. Raffaele (Milan), director of the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes at S. Leonardo and successively of the church of the Stimmate in Verona.
