He asked to go to Brazil while a student, to have his theological studies there. After one year of ordination he went back to USA and worked in several parishes and in the island of Guam. In 1963 he offered himself again to go to Brazil, with the intention of starting a foundation for the North American Stigmatines. His health failed, though, and had to go back again to the States. He was assigned to the parish of White Plains where he dedicated himself to various activities, caring especially for the priestly vocations.
