Fr Mário was born in USA.  At 12 he was a restless and spirited boy who landed at the “Colégio Santa Cruz, SP (Brazil) and asked to become a priest.

He made his final vows in 1942 and was ordained after three years, in the shrine of Our Lady Aparecida, in the town of the same name.

Having reached his dream, he lived his priesthood with joy, engagement and dedication. In 1946 he was sent to Ituiutaba that became the field of his privileged ministerial activity: to build and direct the  “Colégio of S. José”, to become an illustrious teacher of mathematics and electronics, in the same time as serving  the town and the country with his pastoral zeal towards all that needed him.

His life is strictly bound with the school of S. José that he loved dearly. However, even when he had to leave that education activity he id not diminish the apostolic fervour. He dedicated himself intensely to the pastoral activity in the parish of Abadia as assistant parish priest and subsequently as parish priest of St Francis of Assisi in Ituiutaba. He was tirelessly serving the sick and ministering to people.

He gathered numerous friends through the school and the parish. He was an example of a  Stigmatine missionary in the humility and availability of his life and service, in the detachment from material things and in the love to the Congregation.
